iStroll launched in Macon just over a year ago, aiming to change the way parents of young children approach fitness in our community.

iStroll blends a full-body, 60 minute workout, incorporating children in strollers, while creating social time for parents and kids. Participating in iStroll allows parents an hour to do something for themselves, followed by much needed adult and child social time at local playgrounds or other outdoor locations. Parents with young children are able to share a workout side by side with other parents who are also navigating the daily mom-and-dad grind. The workout/playdate format allows more interaction for friends with similar schedules, and it opens the door to potential life-long friendships for the parents and kids alike!

iStroll allows parents an opportunity to exercise while spending time outside with their young children.

The first class is typically free for a first-time participant, but during the last week of August (Aug 26-Sept 1), iStroll, LLC Macon is offering a full week of free classes and activities to any newcomers. Parents can come once, or to each of the sessions during the week. It’s a great opportunity to experience iStroll and to learn what the program is like.

What can parents expect at iStroll classes and events? iStroll’s foundation is the outdoor workout. Parents who come to iStroll are guaranteed to feel welcome and get a great workout suitable for their individual  needs, no matter their current fitness level. By using HIIT (high intensity interval training), dumbbells, cardio, bands and body weight exercises, all exercises can be scaled, from intense for the athletic parent to a modified routine for someone just starting out or postpartum. The workout strives to keep the strollers moving and the kids happy and engaged!

After each class, there is an optional 30 minute “playgroup” when kids can play together and parents can socialize. iStroll also offers special events inside and outside of classes including splash pad field trips, Mom’s Night Out events, crafts for the kids and more!

Where do classes take place? iStroll classes take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:30am at Tattnall Square Park, and two Saturdays a month at 9:00am at Amerson River Park. Special events and field trip classes may change the location and time. All class date, time and location information can be found by following their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/istroll.macon.

How do I join? At iStroll, the first class is always free.  Register online prior to coming or just
