Fall is here and we rejoice in God’s faithfulness to us once again in meeting the needs of this ministry!

The Nehemiah Men’s Home is pleased to announce that our official name change to Next Step Recovery Ministries is fully approved by the state, with our Next Step Men’s Home being a large portion of this ministry.

While we may still be recognized by some around the community as Nehemiah Men’s Home, we are excited about the change as it will help us to grow and expand in the future in order to reach more men and their families. With this change comes expanded personal counseling opportunities and an intensified recovery group meeting on Tuesday nights.

On Saturday, September 16 we hosted our first annual Next Step Recovery Ministries Friendship Banquet. What a tremendous time we had! Jeff Allen, a Christian comedian, was our featured speaker to a sold--out crowd of over 300 people. What a blessing to laugh together, then hear his testimony of a life spared from the stronghold of drugs and alcohol. Jeff communicated a moving testimony of how one man took an interest in him and shared Christ with him.

It was exciting to have so many people take part in learning about Next Step. The men worked hard and their enthusiasm and camaraderie was contagious, and it was exciting to see the growth in their lives. It was a true team effort!

September kicked off our Fall Belk Charity Days ticket sales. This is our most crucial fundraiser of the year, and I’ll be honest with you—Belk loves our men because they sell thousands of tickets and “bring in the customers.” The men also use this time to pass out thousands of Gospel tracts and even pray with the customers. It’s more than fundraising…it’s opportunity to reach people with the Gospel. Call Debbie at 478.284.1422 to get your $5 ticket today.

We have two other large fundraisers on the horizon: our 2nd annual golf tournament, as well as the addition of the Men’s Home discount cards. Please mark your calendars for the tournament on April 30, 2018 at Healy Point Country Club. This will be an exciting time of golf and giveaways. If you would like to participate as a corporate or individual sponsor, please contact us. Discount card sales will launch in January. These cards will offer discounts on food and other services in Macon.

Finally, we are excited to announce that we will graduate two more men in October. These men have worked hard and taken solid leadership roles in the program and in their jobs. The transformation in their lives is remarkable and I look forward to seeing their success as they continue their new found walk with Jesus!

Thank you for ALL you do to help this ministry. Your prayers mean everything to us and we appreciate each and every gift you give to meet the needs. The struggles are real as these men and their families seek physical, emotional, and most importantly, spiritual recovery. Rebuilding Lives!
