The International Sunburst Pageant is held in Atlanta in July every year to culminate the pageant season. Each contestant competes in varies categories for a chance to win trophies, crowns, but most importantly scholarship money.

The top prize is a $10,000 savings bond! This year Laila Lumpkin Faison competed in the 5-6 year old Pee Wee division, where she took home 2nd place for top ad submissions for her age group. In attendance were her grandparents; Lindsay Lumpkin II and Darlene Lumpkin, her aunt, Naomi Lumpkin, her cousin, Jemma Lumpkin, and most of all her proud parents; D’Andre and Nichola Faison.

The pageant ran from July 26-July 29, 2018. Laila took home a 6ft trophy, and 20inch crown. She plans to continue with pageantry, and she hopes to compete next at the Cherry Blossom Pageant.
