Starting Wednesday, May 8th, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, local yoga teachers will lead you through an all-levels class from beginners to seasoned yogis. The classes are every Wednesday at Tattnall Square Park, and although there is no set fee to participate, donations are requested.

Yoga in the Park Macon

Instructors Tia Pike, Jenni Sadler, Christina Murray, and Amanda Brooks will guide you through your yoga session, with each yogi leading the group on a rotating basis. Wednesday night yoga sessions in the park are scheduled through August.

Two years ago, local yoga enthusiasts proved receptive to the idea of Wednesday night classes in the park. Amanda coordinated the effort to re-start the program.

“I thought that we should bring it back,” she explains, “Give people another opportunity to come out, see the park, shop at the Mulberry Market, support local vendors and practice some yoga outside. I reached out to those yoga teachers, and they all thought it was an awesome idea.”

So, bring a mat, some water, a friend and meet Amanda and her cohorts after the market. Get there early to check out all the goodies the market has to offer and to support local vendors at the Mulberry Market. Amanda and her co-instructors are enthusiastic about bringing yoga back to the park after the Mulberry Market.

If you would like to participate in yoga in the park but can’t make it out to Tattnall Square on Wednesday nights, the yoga lessons are also held on Saturday mornings at 10:00 AM. Beginning June 1, 2019, these lessons will start at 9:00 AM and they will remain at the earlier start time through September 28. Saturday lessons are also donation-based and will feature a variety of local and regional instructors.
